Well, Austria’s all wrapped up, which means it’s time for a bunch of random photos.
This is in Graz — basically you climb up a bunch of steps on the side of a mountain, and there’s some parks and stuff up there, not to mention some pretty great views of the city.
And here’s the aforementioned view.
I don’t think Graz is super high on most people’s lists of places to visit, but there’s some neat stuff to see there. I’m glad I went.
Here’s an apple strudel I had from a fairly well-regarded place in Vienna. Like my struggle to find delicious wiener schnitzel, this wasn’t that great. What kind of crazy world are we living in that I can’t find mind-blowing wiener schnitzel or strudel in Austria??
I mentioned that Rome was pretty amazing in that there were impressive buildings and monuments around practically every corner — Vienna might not be quite on that level, but it’s close. As you can see here…
…and here…
…and here…
…not to mention this statue. Elaborate statues are everywhere in Europe, and though I don’t think you get a great sense of the scale from this picture, this one might just be the most impressive one I’ve seen so far.
Let’s break this up with some food. I actually meant to do a whole post about this, but I never got around to it. It looks like a pretty standard sausage, but it was filled with tiny little pockets of gooey cheese, and it was pretty much the best.
Okay, back to buildings.
And another one.
Last one. Suffice it to say, if you like looking at interesting European architecture, you could do worse than Vienna.
