Not to be confused with Mary Brown’s, a Canadian fried chicken chain, Marrybrown is a Malaysian fried chicken chain (seriously: how is this a coincidence? I don’t buy it) that’s been around since 1981.
After eating a tasty plate of noodles at Koon Kee Wan Tan Mee, I couldn’t help but notice the vendor selling tasty looking peanut pancakes in front of the restaurant.
I like peanuts. I like pancakes. Trying this out was a no-brainer.
One thing I’ve noticed about the food in Tainan: it’s noticeably sweeter than the cuisine in Taipei or Taichung. Most of the things I’ve tried here have been at least a little bit sweet.
Ah Song Gua Bao is a good example of this: they sell pork buns, and they’re distinctly sweeter than the version I had in Taipei.
Keelung is a small, seaside town that’s a very quick train ride from Taipei, which makes it an effortless day-trip destination. And that’s a good thing, because the night market here is definitely worth visiting.
Though a lot of the food I’ve been eating in Bangkok has been a bit underwhelming, there’s definitely been some good stuff, too. Such as: this amazing chicken satay I had from a place called Jay Eng.
In case you’re wondering, I bought this candy from a vending machine at a Spanish bus station in the year 2017. I literally did a double-take when I first saw it.
