What to Do / Eat in Brussels, Belgium

DO

Cantillon Brewery – This was actually one of the more interesting brewery tours I’ve visited, despite the fact that it’s all self-guided.

EAT

Eight & Three – The liege waffles here aren’t great, but they’re a big upgrade over the disappointing Maison Dandoy.

Frit Flagey – The fries at this fry stand might just be the best I’ve ever had.

La Frite Dorée – The fries at this Belgian chain aren’t as good as the best Brussels has to offer, but they’re still quite tasty.

Maison Antoine – More fries that are very good, but not great.

Maison Dandoy – Everyone seems to agree that Maison Dandoy serves the best waffles in Brussels.  Everyone is wrong; they’re quite mediocre.

McDonald’s – They have something at McDonald’s here called the Cheese Snack, which is basically like a mozzarella stick but with Camembert instead of mozzarella.  Yeah, they’re good, obviously.

Neuhaus – The Neuhaus outlet store on the outskirts of Brussels is a magical, magical place, where you can eat unlimited free samples from a staggering array of chocolates.  I want to live inside of it.

Quick – This is a fast food chain in Belgium.  Eating there was an odd experience for me, because I was convinced it was a McDonald’s until after I finished eating.
