What to Do / Eat in Edinburgh, Scotland

The Scotch Whisky Experience – Yes, it’s extremely touristy, but if you want to learn the basics of scotch production (and drink some, too), The Scotch Whisky Experience is worth a visit.

Los Cardos – A haggis burrito sounds gross, right?  Wrong!  It’s actually surprisingly tasty.

Oink – The pork sandwiches at Oink are seriously delicious; just make sure you ask for crackling, because they don’t give it out by default, which is absurd.

Piemaker – If you’re looking for a cheap, filling meal in Edinburgh, you could definitely do worse than Piemaker.

Pinnies and Poppyseeds – No doubt about it: Pinnies and Poppyseeds, a delightful bakery in Edinburgh, sells the best shortbread cookies I’ve ever had.

The Royal McGregor – If you’re anywhere in the UK, a full breakfast is obligatory.
