What to Do / Eat in Budapest, Hungary

DO

St. Stephen’s Basilica – Though old European churches all tend to blend together after a while, this one was particularly striking.

EAT

Belvárosi Disznótoros – This place sells sausages that are pretty magical.

Csirke Csibész – It’s hard to go wrong with a fried chicken sandwich, and Csirke Csibész serves an interesting one.

JóKrisz Lángos Sütöde – This vendor at the back of the Rákóczi Market Hall sells langos, a Hungarian specialty that’s basically the best fried dough you’ll ever eat.

Kürtös Ételbár – This is a delightful little gem that serves tasty (and cheap!) meals.

Mangalica Mennyország – This wasn’t my favourite meal I had in Budapest, but it’s not bad and it’s definitely a great value.

McDonald’s – Hungarian McDonald’s sells a cevapi-esque pork burger called the Pig McFarm, and it’s actually pretty tasty.

Norbi Étkezde – This place sells hearty Hungarian meals for relatively cheap.

Retró Lángos Büfé – Check out this street food stall for some tasty palacsinta (a Hungarian crepe).
