What to Do / Eat in Jaipur, India

DO

Monkey Temple – There’s a temple in Jaipur called Hanuman Ji Temple, better known as the Monkey Temple for all of its primate inhabitants.  I accidentally didn’t walk all the way there (whoops), but I still saw a ton of monkeys.

EAT

Curry with papadum – If you’re looking for a quick, tasty, cheap meal, this street food will absolutely hit the spot.

Kachori – Kachori is a samosa-esque street food that comes chopped up and doused in a very tasty sauce.  It’s really good.

Lassiwalla – Lassi is a sweet, yogurt-based drink that’s extremely popular in India; Lassiwalla serves a version that’s beloved by both locals and tourists.

Pakora – There’s so much tasty street food in Jaipur, and these crispy fried fritters were one of my favourites.

Pav Bhaji – This is another tasty street food that features a veggie curry with soft, butter-soaked buns for dipping.

Radhey Shyam Bhatia Paneer Wale – The paneer (a dense, meaty Indian cheese that doesn’t melt) here is perfectly marinated and grilled; it’s quite tasty.

Ramchandra Kulfi Bhandar – The Indian version of ice cream is called kulfi, and it’s so good.

Samrat Restaurant – Don’t miss having a samosa while you’re in India.  This place serves a great one.

Sanjay Omelette – The egg sandwiches at Sanjay Omelette are quite tasty (and enormous).
