What to Do / Eat in Kagoshima, Japan

Sakurajima – You can take a quick ferry ride from Kagoshima to a volcano island (and come on — who can resist going to a volcano island?).  It has some seriously scenic views.

Sengan-en – Sengan-en is a really interesting former residence from the 1600s that features some stunning gardens and a hiking trail that leads to a breathtaking view of the city.

Tmtrmnstr – Tmtrmnstr is a ramen joint in Kagoshima that serves a fusion dish that combines traditional ramen and spaghetti with tomato sauce.  It sounds like it should be horrible.  It’s shockingly delicious.
