What to Do / Eat in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam

Crossing the road – Crossing the road?  That’s no big deal, right?  Wrong.  Crossing the road in Vietnam is like playing a terrifying real-life version of Frogger.

A local market – I stumbled upon a local market in Ho Chi Minh and was quite entranced by it (I also tried some fresh jackfruit and wasn’t impressed).

Ben Thanh Market – I explored the Ben Thanh Market; it’s a bit touristy, but there are a few gems to be had.  Such as: an amazing plate of banh beo hue.

Broken rice and bun thit nuong – The first couple of meals I had in Ho Chi Minh were amazing and made me realize I was in for something special with the food in Vietnam.

Bun bo hue – Bun bo hue is a very zingy noodle soup that I really, really enjoyed.

McDonald’s – Visiting McDonald’s in Vietnam is extremely depressing.  The clientele is almost exclusively other foreigners, and the food is pretty mediocre.
