Lot 10 Hutong is a rare thing — a food court in a mall that everyone says you need to check out.
I know what you’re thinking: a food court? Really? But you won’t find any fast food joints here. Lot 10’s food court features a bunch of well-regarded local restaurants all crammed into one place.
It’s tough to decide what to eat; everything looks so good.
After a lot of wandering around (and hemming and hawing), I finally settled on Imbi Road Original Pork Noodle.
This place specializes in pork noodles, which you can either get dry, or as a soup. I went with dry, and within a few minutes I had a tray crammed with some tasty looking eats.
The meal comes with a bowl of pork noodles along with some pork ball soup.
Nothing about it particularly blew me away, but I enjoyed it.
The broad, thin rice noodles were soft and chewy; they were pretty satisfying when coated with the dark, greasy, and slightly sweet sauce.
The crispy bits of pork didn’t have a ton of flavour, but they worked with the noodles fairly well.
The best part of the bowl, surprisingly enough, were the two slices of sausage. These things were absolutely crammed with flavour. I could have eaten a whole bowl of just that.
It also comes with a bowl of soup with pork balls; the pork had a vaguely hot-doggy taste and texture, but I enjoyed it. The broth, on the other hand, was a bit too salty. It had a one-note flavour that I found tiresome.
