There are three important churches that you’re probably going to want to see when you’re in Thessaloniki. They are the Hagia Sophia, the Church of the Acheiropoietos, and the Church of Saint Demetrius.
They were all built between the 5th century and the 8th century AD, so obviously, there’s quite a bit of history there.
They all look fairly similar on the inside (though all really old European churches kind of look the same on the inside. That’s right, I said it), but they’re still definitely worth checking out.
