If you’re walking around and you stumble across a busy street vendor serving up deep-fried goodness, you have to stop and try it. That’s the law. Don’t look it up, just take my word for it.
I believe these tasty, deep-fried fritters are called pakora — basically an Indian hush puppy. There wasn’t any English at the stall and I can’t find it on Google Maps, so I might be wrong.
Whatever they are, they’re really, really good. They’re super crispy on their exterior, and dense but still a little bit fluffy on the inside. And they’re an absolute taste explosion, with a spice-packed flavour that’s incredibly satisfying.
There’s a vibrant green sauce you can top these with, which is pretty much mandatory. It’s garlicky, zingy, and a little bit spicy, and compliments the crispy fried balls amazingly well.
How to find it: Alas, I’m not sure exactly where it was. It was right around the corner from Chandpole station, but aside from that I’m not sure.
