If you have even a passing interest in movies and moviemaking, the Cinema and Miniature Museum in Lyon is pretty much a must-visit.
They have a whole bunch of props and models from various movies; the movies can be pretty random (from big blockbusters like Back to the Future and Terminator 2, to stuff like Perfume: The Story of a Murderer and Event Horizon.)
Actually, the Event Horizon model was particularly interesting; apparently they made the model of the spaceship from that movie particularly large for added detail. It’s something like ten feet long; it’s really impressive.
Then, on the top floor, they have a whole bunch of impressively detailed little dioramas that all look surprisingly real. The level of artistry in these things is actually pretty crazy.
