Here’s one of the nice things about almost everyone being able to speak English in Malaysia: I walked into Goh Signature Centre completely at random (it looked busy, which was good enough for me).  I had no idea what to order, but I was able to ask the woman in the restaurant what their specialty is.

She let me know that it’s a soup called yong tau foo that also comes with noodles.  Okay: sold.

It’s quite tasty.  The noodles are porky and savoury, and come with a perfect fried egg on the side.  It’s nothing too mind-blowing, but once you add some of the thick, dark sauce they have on the table (and, of course, the chili sauce), it’s a solid bowl of noodles.

The soup is really interesting.  It features a mild seafood base, and it’s filled with all kinds off stuff: fish balls, shrimp wontons, tofu skin, eggplant, meat-stuffed tofu, and meat-stuffed okra.

Everything was quite tasty, though the okra was probably my favourite.  I’ve never even heard of okra being stuffed with anything, but clearly, this is something that needs to be happening more often.
