I stumbled onto Koon Kee Wan Tan Mee completely at random while wandering around Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown. I was basically just looking for a place that was busy; if you don’t have anywhere specific in mind, following the crowd is generally a good idea.
Using the old “pull up a photo in Google maps and then point to it” trick, I wound up ordering a plate of noodles topped with chicken.
This was quite good. The thin noodles have a great texture and are coated in a sweet, slightly smoky sauce. And the chicken, despite being white meat, is perfectly cooked and amazingly tender.
It was a tasty plate of food made even tastier with the pickled chilis they have on the table. These aren’t particularly spicy, but their vinegar-packed flavour works perfectly to offset the sweetness of the noodles.
The plate also comes with a couple of dumplings in a nice seafoody broth. I thought it might be an afterthought, but it was actually just as good as the noodles, if not slightly better.

How to find it: It’s not going to be particularly easy to find (there’s no sign, as far as I can tell). Look for the peanut pancake vendor; it’s right in front of the restaurant.
