After having a decent but fairly underwhelming sausage at Václavsky Gril, I had unfinished business. Surely I could find a great quality sausage in Prague.
Enter: Naše Maso, a higher quality butcher shop that also sells a variety of prepared meats, including sausages.
I tried a couple of sausages — salsicca veprova, which is made with pork, and salsicca hovezi, which is made with beef. The plate also came with a nice dollop of good quality mustard, and a couple of slices of fennel-infused bread.
Yep, this is what I was looking for. Though they didn’t blow me away, they’re great quality sausages.
The difference between these sausages and the one I had at Václavsky Gril was night and day. These ones were perfectly cooked and amazingly juicy. The seasoning on both sausages was just right, with a ton of flavour, but not so much that it overwhelms the natural flavour of the beef and the pork.
And the bread was amazing — I might have liked it even better than the sausages. It was fluffy, dense, and perfect, with a great crispy exterior. Its fennel-packed flavour worked perfectly with the sausages. It was a tasty combo.
