You might recall that I was recently searching for a well-regarded noodle joint in Taichung’s Second Market — but I couldn’t find it, so I wound up eating some delicious porky goodness instead.
I finally found it. It was worth the wait.
The specialty here, as you’d imagine, is noodles — specifically, dry noodles with a really tasty pork sauce.
It’s a fairly simple dish, but it’s so good. The flat, thin noodles have a perfectly chewy texture, and do a great job as a vehicle for the somewhat oily, porky sauce. A heaping spoonful of the slightly sour chili sauce, and you’re off to the races.
I also ordered a bowl of the wonton soup, which was quite tasty. The broth is extremely basic, but the pork-filled wontons are very good, and the shrimp ball is slightly sweet and pleasantly fishy, with a great texture.

How to find it: Honestly? Wander around a lot. It’s on the outer perimeter of the market, so don’t bother going to the food court in the middle. There’s no English anywhere, but they have a lot of photos and articles posted on the wall around the shop, so be on the lookout for those.
