Burger King is the worst. That’s barely even an opinion — that’s just a fact. It’s consistently shoddy in a way that’s quite shocking. So despite my interest in kooky local creations at fast food chains across the world, I’ve never had any particular interest in checking out BK.
Well, I just tried the Halloumi Whopper at Burger King in Cyprus, and yeah — I was right to avoid Burger King. It’s just as shoddy in Europe as it is back home.
Though Tombs of the Kings isn’t quite as amazing as the Archaeological Park, that’s really not even a fair comparison. It’s still absolutely worth a visit.
The Seven St. Georges is a restaurant that comes up on multiple lists of the best restaurants in Paphos. Checking it out was a definite no-brainer.
Paphos Archaeological Park is easily one of the more memorable things I’ve seen recently. The park is absolutely massive, and is crammed with fascinating Roman ruins.
There’s only one thing on the menu at McDonald’s in Cyprus that’s particularly interesting, but it’s a doozy: the Greek Mac, which is essentially McDonald’s take on a souvlaki wrap.
There isn’t a ton to do once you reach Paphos Castle — you can’t even go inside — but the castle itself is striking enough that it’s absolutely worth a visit.
Lebanese Um Khalil is pretty much the perfect spot to hit after working up an appetite by walking around Jerash.
Located about an hour outside of the city, Jarash is a really well-preserved ancient Roman city that’s pretty much a must-see if you’re in Amman.
McDonald’s in Jordan is basically the opposite of what you’ll find in India. India was a veritable cornucopia of quirky menu oddities. Here, on the other hand, all they have are the usual suspects (Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, etc.). There’s a couple of different burgers and chicken sandwiches on the menu, but nothing particularly interesting.
Thanks to its history of ancient Roman control, Jordan is a treasure-trove of fascinating Roman ruins.
