Though lor mee is also served in Singapore and Indonesia, it’s a Malaysian dish, and a really tasty one at that.

Though I suppose it’s possible that I might eventually get sick of eating various bowls of noodles, I’m certainly not there yet.  Especially when there’s so much variety to be had.

In the case of lor mee, two different types of noodles (thin and thick) are topped with sliced pork, hard-boiled duck eggs, crispy onions, and a thick, starchy sauce.  A spoonful of a flavourful chili sauce is also provided.

The sauce is savoury and rich, and the thin and thick noodles give the dish an interesting texture.  The eggs and pork are nice and hearty, and the crispy onions add a nice bit of crunch to the bowl.

More chili sauce and chopped garlic are also provided on the table; add a bit of both to your bowl, and things really start to take off.
