I wasn’t really planning on revisiting McDonald’s in Malaysia, but I was walking by one and saw that they had a lychee sundae, and I figured sure, why not?
It’s pretty simple: it’s vanilla soft serve topped with a lychee-infused sauce.
I quite enjoyed it. After my horrific Taiwanese McDonald’s experience, I guess my faith in old Ronald is somewhat restored.
The lychee sauce is good — it has a decent amount of sizable lychee chunks and a nice lychee flavour. It’s sweet, a little bit tart, and slightly floral.
And the soft serve was definitely a cut above what they serve back home. It’s actually really smooth and creamy, with a refreshingly restrained level of sweetness. It’s a quality sundae.
